Long revered as the ultimate insider’s guide to all things tech-savvy, WIRED magazine offers the first and last word in gadgets. This week, their 7th annual WIRED Store will return to New York City, opening right in Times Square for maximum accessibility and energy. Opening hours after Friday, November 18th will be every Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 7 pm with the exception of Thanksgiving Day—until Saturday, December 24th. The store offers an on-site opportunity for fans of the mag to explore the latest and greatest in technological advances, play around with cool new finds, and purchase whatever suits their fancy. Stand-out products in this year’s lineup include:

-A 24-carat gold plated Atari gaming console ($6,650) [Talk about taking in old school…]
-Trithon Reyn 96” TV mounted in walnut, steel and brass with a genuine python belt ($30,000) [Hello, pimped-out bachelor pad!]
-iTree docking station for your iPhone or iPod made of a hollowed out tree trunk ($15,580) [This is where nature meets the ultimate in technology.]

In addition to these over-the-top items for the true connoisseur, the store will also feature must-buy holiday gifts for the techy guys and girls on your list. From affordable yet awesome cameras to the ultimate arcade cabinet priced at $99.99, there is bound to be something great to fit your diverse needs. Art installations like custom Lego sculptures by Nathan Sawaya (the “Brick Artist”) and an HD collage of guest-driven video recorded on XBOX Kinect by Erik Mika among many others will wow guests. In-store events will happen throughout the store’s run, including:

-GeekDad Family Dad (Saturday, November 26)
-Norman Reedus of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” photo exhibit (Wednesday, November 30)
-Game Day (Sunday, December 4)
-Music Spotlight Series with hot rising indie bands (Wednesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 15)
-Maker Demo Days (Saturdays: December 3, 10, and 17)

It all kicks off this Thursday night, November 17th with a kick-ass invitation-only opening party featuring DJ Theophilus London, presented by Buick and sponsored by Patron and Amstel Light. A VIP Lounge sponsored by Gilt MAN with round out the evening.
