Earbender #7 - UPCOMING SHOWS 10/25-10/29 Theories (Hypotheses) or “Whatever”

Perhaps its hormones, genetics, light, temperature, or the new Lou Reed and Metallica collaboration, but I relish explaining all the bullshit phenomena floating around metropolitan parts.

For instance, the bus theory. The bus theory states (and includes all public transportation) that you could be the only passenger on the entire bus, seats everywhere open for the ass-taking, and inevitably the next passenger boarding the bus will sit either right in front, or behind, or next to you. Catch my drift?

October is almost over and I've been securing some time (ignoring all the chores) to disabuse myself of any notions about flight or escape.

Although I'm a huge fan of John Carpenter's 1981 science fiction film (starring an eye-patched, jaded, x-commando Kurt Russell) where Manhattan has morphed into a maximum security prison, I will stay put.

Imaginatively (or any Lee: Bruce, Sara, Tommy or Spike), here are reasons to visit NYC or just not leave:

CANT 10/25 Bowery Ballroom
CANT is the work of one of the cubs from Grizzly Bear, Chris Taylor. CANT play an eclectic, lushly arranged, atmospheric music that is quite delicate and beautiful.

Friendly Fires 10/26 Terminal 5.
Rave. Neon. Nodding. Enough said?

Boris 10/27 Irving Plaza
Is there any genre left that this Japanese band hasn't performed. And successfully? Whether its ambient or pop or metal, Boris is necessary.

Peaking Lights 10/28 Glasslands Gallery
A dub-pop, lo-fi, psychedelic duo that is a must experience. I might be there.

The Black Angels 10/29 Music Hall of Williamsburg.
Austin's The Black Angels make psychedelia and they pound and fuzz and fuzz and pound some pop. A lovely languor your left with.

There is your week.  Does anyone have a theory for the "thumbs up" hand gesture?

Until later, later.
