Gramercy Pilates: February Fitness
If you've been waiting for a good deal before joining a Pilates studio in your neighborhood, or are trying to justify paying a little bit extra for private training sessions, I may have found something for you. I tend to be a fan of fitness packages and month-long deals, since it allows you to try a class more than once without making an annual commitment. Plus, it really takes between 3-5 sessions to figure out if you actually like a new exercise, accounting for the learning curve.
Gramercy Pilates is currently offering 2 packages that you can purchase this month and use in February. The first is a machine package including 4 classes for $79 (limit of 1 package/person) and are good for classes throughout the month of February. The offer ends on January 30 and the package can't be extended beyond February 29, 2012.
The second package includes 2 private sessions for $99 -- and the same rules apply as above. This can be used for Pilates or Gyrotonic classes. It's with selected trainers, so if you have a favorite, you don't get to choose. If you're wondering what the "gyrotonic" option entails, let's just say the first time you do it, it feels a bit like you're puppeteering (or, maybe you ARE the puppet) while doing Pilates! It's a 3D exercise taught on weight and pulley based equipment. Founded by Juliu Horvath, gyrotonics takes the principles of yoga, dance, Tai Chi, and swimming to make a unique kind of training. Think a series of circular and fluid exercises that works your entire body -- muscular, skeletal and cardio -- and leaves you surprisingly sore at the end. The good kind of I-just-did-an-amazing-workout sore, of course.
Give this studio a call to book one of these packages at 212.727.7896 or visit www.gramercypilatesfitness.com.
