Win Free Couples Tickets to BRRC’s Valentine’s 5K
Want a great way to kick off your Valentine's Day celebration (or lack of celebration, if that's the case)? Run a 5K with your spouse, significant other, or get friends together for some Sunday morning fitness. Who cares that it's cold, right?!
The Valentine'sDay 5K in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, is an excuse to go for a morning jaunt on the Sunday before the day of all things red and romantic. The 5K run starts at 10am on February 12, so it won't conflict with your dinner plans, and even better? Once it's over, you can go to lunch in the area! This year, there will also be new couples category (awww) so for scoring and award purposes, you can be scored as a solo runner or as a couple.
If you've never run the paths in Prospect Park, you're in for a treat. This jog in my favorite Brooklyn park was sold out last year, and this year it promises to be one of the most fun NYC runs you'll do. It begins east of Bartel Prichard and finishes there -- the nearest transit is the F/G train to 15th street, but we suggest checking out the MTA schedule the day of to make sure everything is running on schedule.
Sign up for this race through the New York Road Runners. Single tickets are $21 through 2/1, $25 2/1-2/11 and $30 on race day. And, drum roll please, we have one more reason to love New York: Try your hand at winning a pair of tickets for the race from us!
NewYork.com is giving away a couples registration (read, 2 passes, estimated value of $42). Tweet "I want to run the BRRC Valentines Day 5K" to @newyorkcom (and my personal handle, if you wish @vvoltolina) and we'll choose a random winner before the date of the run. Besides being 18 years of age and a US citizen, all eligibility to participate in the run is based on NYRR Freeze & Fuhgeddaboudit policies. Best of luck, and happy running!
