Stream of Consciousness: Jets vs. Dolphins

1st Quarter
And we're live from the Gothelf residence for a classic AFC East match-up. The win-less Dolphins! The 3-game losing streak Jets! Let's get it going!

I really need Mark Sanchez to have a good game. I'm losing in fantasy football and Sanchez is my only hope. In other words, here comes a four interception game from Marky Mark.

The Jets go three and out, and then Reggie Bush rips a 30-yard run. Yikes. This is not going to quell any fears Jets fans had coming into this game.

The Dolphins try to throw on 3rd and inches deep down the field on Revis. It's incomplete. This is why a team has not won a game this season. Punt time.

The Jets go three and out. Again. Starting to hear some boos...

And Matt Moore picking apart the Jets secondary is not going to help. If the Dolphins score a touchdown here...well...I can already hear Boomer and Carton tomorrow morning.

Great play by Revis to knock a touchdown pass away from Brandon Marshall. Just a FG for the Dolphins. 3-0 Miami.

But then the Jets fumble the ensuing kickoff. Oh boy. This looks like the Jets of old. I have a roommate who is not going to be very happy...

But the Jets have Darrelle Revis. Did the Dolphins forget that? Matt Moore? Hello? Revis takes an interception back to the house. Just like that, the Jets are on top, 7-3.

Brandon Marshall catches a deep ball. And then can't stay in bounds as he runs down the sidelines. This is why the Dolphins haven't won a game.

2nd Quarter
Then Marshall drops a touchdown pass. Another Dolphins FG. Oy. 7-6 Jets.

Look! A montage of Marshall's drops! Dolphin fans everywhere are watching YouTube highlights of Andrew Luck.

So much for Mark Sanchez winning my fantasy match-up for me. A false start for the Jets. Zero first downs. Can't blame Derrick Mason for this one. Another three and out.

Eric Stangel, writer for David Letter, just tweeted: "The Jets offense is under the impression this is a bye week..."

The MNF crew just cut to the wrong camera during a play. This game is putting the guys in the truck to sleep, too.

And then the Jets have 12 players on the field. Maybe they should try that on offense instead.

The Jets fumble the punt, but recover it. Ugh. This is painful to watch.

Every pass from Mark Sanchez has been awful. The Dolphins defense is playing well, sure. But Sanchez isn't even giving his receivers a chance.

Back-to-back first downs for the Jets! That means the game's over, right?

The best offensive play of the game for the Jets comes after Sanchez nearly trips over both running backs. Of course it did.

The best offensive drive of the game for the Jets ends with a Mark Sanchez touchdown run. Great call on third down on the draw for Sanchez. Jets go up 14-6. Sanchez was great through the air on that drive, too.

If not for the Jets touchdown, I would say we mercifully have reached halftime. Instead, I'll just say we've mercifully reached halftime.

3rd Quarter
Halftime's over already? Well then, onto the third quarter. Dolphins start with the ball.

Matt Moore just threw a deep ball to his fullback. Should we be surprised that he didn't catch the ball?

Daniel Thomas just ran the ball on third and long and picked up the first down. Great call, great run.

Matt Moore actually looks pretty good. Making strong throws, pretty good decisions, and commanding the offense. He's been hurt by drops. But helped by the personal foul the Jets just committed.

Another dropped pass. This time Brian Hartline. Right in the hands. Would have been a first down. Double ugh. As in ugh-ly. Dolphins have to punt.

Mark Sanchez is really starting to gain some confidence. I don't know where it came from, but he's hitting receivers all over the field now. Of course, the lack of any Dolphins pass rush is helping.

Sanchez needs to get three more fantasy points for me. THROW A TOUCHDOWN, MARK!

Won't happen on this drive. The Jets drive stalls around the 10. Nick Folk FG gives the Jets an 11-point lead. You get the feeling that might be too much for the Dolphins to overcome.

MNF goes to commercial with Marshall's drops from the game in slow motion. Andrew Luck is rooting for the Colts to lose out.

Did I read that right? Do the Dolphins really have an offensive lineman with the last name incognito? That's awesome.

4th Quarter
This game's almost over! I think! And then I can go to bed!

The last two minutes of game time have taken 15 minutes. In that time we've had a challenge and two punts.

Plaxico Burress drops another pass. What a surprise. In other news, the Rams traded for Brandon Lloyd? Why?

Fortunately for the Jets, they've got Santonio Holmes. Nice run down the sideline puts this game out of reach. And puts me in the lead in my fantasy match-up. 24-6, Jets.

I am dozing off to the Dolphins committing a delay of game penalty...

LT runs for a first down, and 75 flags get thrown. Seems about right for this game.

I think Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden are currently debating whether the bye week has contributed to the recession...

Davone Bess fumbles with seven minutes to go. Can Sanchez just take a knee now?

There are now more commercials being aired than football plays. Make it stop.

Well that was somewhat exciting. Shonn Greene just ran over the umpire. Good times!

That's it. The Jets end the losing streak in the most boring of fashions. Final score: Jets 24, Dolphins 6.
