What to Watch on Thanksgiving Weekend

Had enough turkey and couch time? I didn't think so. There's plenty of time left for sloth and gluttony before returning to work on Monday, so why not saddle up in front of your favorite big screen and enjoy a great weekend of national and New York sports?

Here's a guide on what to watch this weekend:

Friday

Preseason N.I.T. finals: #5 Syracuse vs. Stanford, 5 pm, ESPN

Both teams bring a perfect record into their matchup at the Garden. Syracuse beat Virginia Tech 69-58 Wednesday in the semifinals, and are 68-43 all time at MSG.

Saturday

Islanders @ Devils, 1pm, MSG+

The second game of a two-game set between the two teams, the Devils are 7-3 in their last 10 games, while the Islanders are just 2-6-2 and might be happy just to be playing outside the Coliseum.

Philadelphia @ Rangers, 2pm, MSG

These two teams, as we all know, don't care much for each other. Both are playing well, having lost just two games in each of their last 10. The Rangers will look to move up in the Eastern Conference standings, as they sit just four points behind the fourth-place Flyers.

Rutgers @ UConn, 12 pm, ESPN2

This is a HUGE game for Rutgers. If they can beat UConn, and if Louisville and West Virginia lose, Rutgers will clinch a BCS bowl berth. It would be the first Big East title for the Scarlet Knights.

Cincinnati @ Syracuse, 12pm, ESPN3

Syracuse has lost three straight, and the Orange are hoping to fix an anemic run game. The last time the Orange won was October 21, and if Syracuse loses, they'll need to win at Pittsburgh the final week of the season to become bowl eligible.

Alabama @ Auburn, 3:30 pm, CBS

The Iron Bowl will have BCS implications across the college football landscape. Most expect Alabama to win, but strange things happen in rivalry games, and it's never easy to win on the road in the SEC.

Penn State @ Wisconsin, 3:30 PM, ESPN

It's pretty simple to figure this one out: the winner moves on to face Michigan State in the Big Ten championship game next weekend, while the loser heads to a mid-tier bowl game. It's a battle of Wisconsin's dominant run game versus the terrific Penn State defense.

Sunday

Buffalo @ Jets, 1 pm, CBS

We'll break this one down in full tomorrow, but it's a huge game for both teams as each is fighting to turn their season around and stay in the hunt for an AFC Wild Card spot.

New England @ Philadelphia, 4:15, CBS

Jets fans will root hard for the Eagles. Giants fans will root hard to the Patriots. Many football fans will root for both teams to lose.
