This will be Bening’s first New York stage appearance since Spoils of War in 1988. Additional cast members include Steven Boyer (Hand to God), Jay O. Sanders (The Apple Plays), Christopher Innvar (The Gershwins’s Porgy and Bess), and Clarke Peters (The Wire, Treme).

The production is directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof, The Merchant of Venice) and runs July 22 to Aug. 17, with an official opening of Aug. 5. The Delacorte season will begin with Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater playing the quarrelling lovers Beatrice and Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, running June 3-July 6.
