The splashy new musical Bullets Over Broadway, based on the 1994 Woody Allen film, opens tonight on Broadway.
The show, with a book also written by Allen, features tunes from the 1920s like “Let’s Misbehave” and “They Go Wild, Simply Wild, Over Me.” Tony winner Susan Stroman directs. Zach Braff makes his Broadway debut as writer David Shayne, who is struggling to get his work on the big stage. Mobster Nick Valenti, played by Vincent Pastore, steps in to help, under the condition that his less-than-talented girlfriend be cast. Marin Mazzie also stars as the aging diva Helen Sinclair and Nick Cordero plays Cheech, a gangster who turns out to be a secret weapon.
Bullets Over Broadway opens tonight at the St. James Theatre at 246 W 44th St. Get tickets!
