Sutton Foster’s New York

Two time Tony winner Sutton Foster has starred in many Broadway shows, including ‘Anything Goes,’ ‘Shrek: The Musical,’ ‘Mel Brooks's Young Frankenstein,’ ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’ and ‘Little Women.’ She is nominated for a Tony Award for playing the title role in the critically acclaimed musical ‘Violet.’

I was 17 when I first came here in 1993. I was amazed that you could order food anytime of the day. You could order muffins at midnight and they would arrive at your door. You could walk everywhere. There were areas of town that were really scary, but it was unlike anything I had ever known.

What do you love about New York?

1. I like the dog park by the Intrepid. You forget that you’re in New York because you’re by the water. When I bring my dog there, I think,  “wow, wow, it’s so beautiful.”

2. My favorite restaurant is Market Table. They have this beef carpaccio salad. The salad on top has french fries in it. It’s really yummy because every salad is better with french fries in it.

3. The High Line, which is amazing. One of the reasons why I love New York is what they’ve done with the river, especially in the last 15 years. Things have changed so much. But I love the entire High Line area. I love the art installations and around 16th Street where you can sit over the traffic, which is so cool. Sunset is always a great time to visit.
