Flowers, chocolates and blue Tiffany’s boxes are all highly appreciated, but make it a Valentine’s Day (and night) to remember with the gift of a hotel getaway. Here’s our roundup of top Valentine’s Day hotels offers in NYC.
Kimpton Hotels has introduced Valentine’s Day promotions at their hotels across the city, like the Romance Lives at the Eventi (from $349) with a bottle of Champagne upon arrival, chocolates, a customized love message on the massive HD outdoor screen in the Big Screen Plaza behind the hotel and late checkout at 2pm. The Muse (from $334) is featuring the Love ‘em or Leave ‘em package, which includes complimentary breakfast, mimosas for the ladies, bellinis for the gentlemen and champagne for all.
The downtown Conrad New York is offering two Valentine’s Day packages – one extravagant, and the other affordable. On the more modest end is the Romance Retreat (starting at $351), which includes a unique floral arrangement from Bloom upon arrival, chocolate-covered strawberries in your suite and, perhaps most importantly, continental breakfast-in-bed for two daily and late checkout until 2pm. On the higher end is the VIP Valentine’s Day (starting at $2,500), which includes a lavish 700-square-foot suite, a Valentine’s Day three-course dinner at Atrio Wine Bar & Restaurant, a private helicopter tour, couples’ massages, Champagne, flowers, chocolate and more.
The couple that cooks together, stays together. The new Cook & Go Package at Langham Place, Fifth Avenue (from $1,295) offers a private cooking lesson in your suite. Afterwards, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor, with an optional wine pairing for each course selected by the hotel’s wine director. If you’re still hungry: The hotel’s Measure lounge is featuring a Valentine’s Day dinner ($135 per person), with live jazz, a bottle of Taittinger, canapes like salmon with caviar and shared plates of grilled tuna, quiche and more.
In the mood for a sexy staycation? Head to The Benjamin, which is featuring the In the Mood package (offered Thur.–Sun.; from $279 per night). Included is the Mood Sign, a flirty communication game to spice things up between the sheets, a complimentary in-room movie, a $25 credit to dine at Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s The National and a $30 salon/spa credit on services totaling $100 or more at Federico Hair & Spa. Also, the hotel guarantees “interruption-free accommodations” (no knocking on the door from cleaning staff, and so on). Plus, you can sleep in deliciously late: Check-out is 3pm.
If you are planning a Valentine’s Day for the whole family, The Plaza is offering the Cupid for the Kids package. This includes accommodation in an Edwardian Suite, with a connecting Plaza Room at 50 percent off (rates start at $1,416, based on a family of four). Also, you’ll get tickets for ice-skating at Central Park’s Wollman Rink and a $100 gift card to the Eloise Shop, which is featuring a Hilary Knight limited-edition Valentine’s Day print (through Feb. 17), along with other fun in-store events, like the Rawther Fancy Valentine’s Day Tea (Feb. 14, 4–5pm; $100 per person) with pink lemonade, story time and a special gift.
