With Super Bowl around the corner – and the two challengers hailing from the West Coast, which means lots of out-of-town fans – New York City and New Jersey hotels are stepping up their game, with last-minute offers and deals.
The Out NYC, a lively hotel on West 42nd Street, is scoring a touchdown with its Super Bowl Package for Two (from $415 per night), which includes a free breakfast and round-trip transportation to the game (with a cooler of beer and snacks for the trip). As of posting, there were four deluxe rooms left for the package.
Or, stay in the Garden State – this is, after all, where the game will be played. HuddleNJ, which includes sixteen members of the Preferred Inns of New Jersey Bed & Breakfast Association, is offering “top perks, not over-the-top prices” – rates start as low as $100. Also, many of these B&Bs are within walking distance to New Jersey public transit, which means you can enjoy a beer (or five) at the game, and not worry about driving home. Among the available offers is the Sea Spray Inn (from $200 for Super Bowl night; no minimum stay), in Ocean Grove, within walking distance to the Asbury Park station. The package includes free hot breakfast and to-go goodie bag are available on game day. For more offers, check out the HuddleNJ website.
They may not include additional perks, but many well-located hotels do have weekend rooms available. We found that the Millennium Broadway Hotel Times Square had king rooms with an average nightly rate starting at $248 per night for the weekend, while the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel had rooms starting at $399 a night through the weekend. And being in Times Square means being right near Super Bowl Boulevard.
