Reasons to Consider a Career in Premium Liquor

Oktoberfest inspired me to offer you my top reasons why you should consider a career with a premium liquor company, based on the input I’ve received from my clients and friends who made the amazing decision to shun the banks and consulting firms for a truly enviable career.

Fantastic perks and free samples
I will admit that this observation is based on hearsay from the clients I’ve worked with who have come through a company like Diageo or any other luxury beverage brand in the market, but they’ve told me countless stories of happy hour Fridays to “sample” new beverages that start at 3pm! Every week! I need some corroboration if this is still true, but I’ve heard have been chalked up to “internal market research.” Come on, that’s amazing!

You will inevitably meet and work with more cool people than not
If a company or industry’s culture is predicated on celebration, socializing and, quite frankly, partying – the type of personalities they attract must fall in line with that philosophy and it’s no surprise that most of the people at any level from a premium liquor company tend to radiate positivity and simply enjoy life. If you are down in the dumps drudging to your back office job and you realize this just isn’t you, maybe it’s time to move on. It will also help to have the requisite skills and experience that they will probably need to sell more beer or bottles of whiskey, like marketing, consumer analytics and strategy.

When you raise your glass at an Oktoberfest celebration, think of these reasons to switch industries and smile.
