Get Your Tickets Now for the New York City Wine & Food Festival

The biggest food festival of the year — the New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Food & Wine and the Food Network — is coming to the city this fall, Oct. 17-20, 2013. But the most popular events always sell out, and those in the know snatch up their tickets ahead of time. Now that the schedule is released and ticket sales are live (, here’s your guide to five can’t-miss events, all hosted by celebrity chefs and all sure to sell out fast.

New York Food and Wine Festival Blue Moon Burger Bash, Hosted by Rachael Ray
Why you should go: One of the most popular annual events, Rachael Ray’s nighttime bash brings together dozens of burger makers from restaurants across the country, all competing for the Best Burger title. Pat LaFrieda Meats, widely regarded as the best meat supplier in the city, supplies the beef, while Blue Moon keeps a full beer in everyone’s hand.
When: Friday, Oct. 18; 7pm-10pm

Rockin’ Dumplings and Rollin’ Sushi, Hosted by Masaharu Morimoto
Why you should go: If late-night sushi from high-end chefs in the stunning Harvard Club weren’t enough of a draw, how about celebrity chefs singing karaoke after a few too many sakes? This annual party always goes late and always gets rowdy.
When: Friday, Oct. 18; 11pm-2am

Jets + Chefs: The Ultimate Tailgate, Hosted by Joe Namath and Mario Batali
Why you should go: 
Food and football are a time-honored pairing, and at this first-time event, Mario Batali and Joe Namath put together a spread of classic tailgating fare, with appearances by Jets personalities, activities for the kids, and an Absolut Bloody Mary Bar for the grown-ups.
When: Saturday, Oct. 19; 2pm-5pm

Tacos & Tequila, Hosted by Bobby Flay
Why you should go: Bobby Flay has a longstanding affinity for Southwestern and Latin flavors, and at this annual event, he brings together more than two dozen well-known chefs to serve their takes on tacos: some traditional, some much less so. And of course, no taco party is complete without margaritas, courtesy of Olmeca Altos tequila.
When: Saturday, Oct. 19; 7pm-10pm

Dale’s Dim Sum Party at Buddakan, Hosted by Dale Talde
Why you should go: 
Dale Talde gained acclaim as a Top Chef and Top Chef All-Stars contender, and Food + Wine Magazine’s “People’s Best New Chef.” In the last two years, he’s become well-known in New York for his Brooklyn restaurants, including his beloved Park Slope flagship Talde. For the festival, he’s returning to his former home, Buddakan, and putting together a dim sum party with his food industry friends, with cocktails and sake from the Southern Wine & Spirits portfolio.
