Last night, New York City cleaned up at the James Beard Foundation Awards, reaffirming the city’s status as the culinary capital of the U.S. Actor Oliver Platt hosted the film-themed ceremony at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall where 1,700 guests, including 300 chefs, ate and drank the night away. Big Apple chefs and restaurants that scored: Wylie Dufresne, finally snagging Best Chef NYC after seven consecutive nominations; Blue Hill for Outstanding Restaurant in the country; Le Bernardin’s Maguy Le Coze for Outstanding Restaurateur in the country; Del Posto for Outstanding Service and Outstanding Pastry Chef Brooks Headley; Mission Chinese‘s Danny Bowien for Rising Star Chef of the Year and David Chang of Momofuku Noodle Bar (tied with Chicago’s Paul Kahan) for Outstanding Chef.
