Don't wait: This exhibit is only scheduled to be at Discovery Times Square through February 15, 2015.
They’re the world’s most powerful superheroes, an ultra-elite team determined to protect the universe from the most evil threats imaginable. They’re The AVENGERS, of course! If you love these astounding power players, you’ll absolutely flip for this world-premiere exhibition at New York City’s Discover Times Square: Marvel’s AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N.
To begin, S.T.A.T.I.O.N. stands for Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network. And if that sounds like the real deal in terms of superhero fun, that’s because it is. Marvel’s AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is a completely immersive and thoroughly interactive exhibition that takes you deep into the world of these amazing superheroes -- and encourages you to jump in, get involved and enjoy one truly unforgettable experience.
It all starts when you’re granted S.H.I.E.L.D. access to the official S.T.A.T.I.O.N. headquarters and taken deep inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Once you’ve got clearance, The Avengers universe is yours. Pore through a huge trove of intelligence files, classified studies and super-secret experiments (you’ll have open access, after all). You’ll find out what The Avengers are made of and how they came to be.
Next, it’s time to explore some of the rare artifacts that are central to The Avengers’ world -- and that the S.H.I.E.L.D. guards fiercely. From Captain America’s Birth Pod to the Tesseract Portal Device, from Loki’s Scepter to a hermetically sealed Chitauri, you’ll get up close and personal with these awe-inspiring relics that were recovered after the Battle of New York.
You’ll also get to engage in all kinds of thrilling challenges, physical tests and mind-blowing demonstrations. Want to know how to operate Iron Man’s suit? Done. Want to go muscle to muscle against Captain America. Check.
This mammoth exhibition is a rare collaboration of some of super-powered organizations: NASA, the Science & Entertainment Exchange (a program of the National Academy of Sciences), Neuroverse and Thwacke.
Engaging, inspiring and flat-out cool, Marvel’s AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is one experience for the superhero in all of us.
It takes at least 60 to 90 minutes to see the exhibit. You may want to plan for more time on weekends and to take full advantage of the interactive elements.
