The 90-minute play casts LuPone as Cathy, a longtime inmate with ties to a violent political organization, who pleads for parole from the hardened warden, Ann, played by Winger.

From Evita to Gypsy, Patti LuPone is a Broadway legend with an extensive history with David Mamet on both stage and screen, including Heist, State and Main and The Old Neighborhood. Celebrated for her critically-acclaimed work in An Officer and a Gentleman, Terms of Endearment, and Shadowlands, Debra Winger was most recently seen in the film Lola Versus, and on the hit HBO series, In Treatment. The Anarchist marks Winger's Broadway debut.
