About the Comfort Inn & Suites Airport
The Comfort Inn & Suites Airport is a centrally located hotel right off the junction of Interstate 81 and the New York State Thruway: It is about five miles from Syracuse Hancock International Airport, as well as some of the most popular destinations in central New York, including the Destiny USA mall, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park, Syracuse University, the Empire Expo Center and the Armory Square district in downtown Syracuse. The Comfort Inn is a favorite not just of visitors to Syracuse but of travelers en route to other destinations who take advantage of the hotel's Stay and Fly packages, which include free parking and shuttle service to the airport from 4:30am to 11pm.
Destiny USA (formerly the Carousel Center), the sixth-largest shopping center in the country and the largest in the state of New York, occupies 2.4 million square feet of space on the shore of Lake Onondaga, and is the top tourist attraction in Syracuse, drawing more than 20 million visitors annually. The 43-acre Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park has some 700 creatures, and is very popular with kids who are drawn to the breeding zoo's numerous baby animals. Syracuse University is a prestigious learning institution with acclaimed programs in the disciplines of broadcasting, architecture and journalism, as well as a collegiate sports power. Its basketball and football teams play in the Carrier Dome, a 49,000-seat stadium. The Empire Expo Center is the home of the Great New York State Fair, a 12-day festival from late August through Labor Day, celebrating the state's vital industries with an emphasis on agriculture, with rides, exhibitions and concerts by top musical artists. The Armory Square district is a former industrial section of downtown Syracuse that has been remade as the hip center of the city's nightlife, with top restaurants, cafes and dozens of shops, drawing students from the university and other area colleges.
Despite the many entertainment and dining options available close by, the hotel offers a number of amenities that make staying in an attractive option as well: including the indoor heated pool and hot tub, a fitness room with cardio equipment and weights, and an in-house restaurant and bar, the Atrium Lounge. All rooms come equipped with comfortable beds and furniture, including full-size desks and spacious bathrooms. Some rooms contain refrigerators, microwaves and sofa beds. The suites have two bathrooms. If you need to get some work done, the hotel has a business center with high-speed Internet access and faxing services, as well as meeting rooms. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available throughout the hotel.

In 1963, the franchise moved to Philadelphia and became the 76ers.
