About Hampton Inn Manhattan – Chelsea
New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood is one of the New York City's most vibrant, offering scores of restaurants, art galleries, clubs, bars and shopping. Lots of shopping! The Hampton Inn Manhattan – Chelsea is located just one block north off the main drag (23rd Street), a quiet retreat from the eating, drinking, gallery-hopping and shopping.
Set back from the street, this Hampton Inn features a lushly landscaped mini-yard, providing the perfect transition from chaos to calm. A sense of cool prevails once inside the shaded lobby, with its Mondrian-esque colored-cube layout and seating area. A two-station business center is tastefully set off from the lobby with an open partition.
Recent renovations have spelled upgrades across the Hampton Inn chain and some of the chicest changes have been with the artwork. No serene landscape prints here; instead, in fitting with the neighborhood’s artistic vibe, there’s glass-framed modern photography.
Manhattan hotel rooms aren’t known for their spaciousness, but the Hampton Inn Manhattan – Chelsea’s king rooms are expansive enough to accommodate a roll-away bed. Doubles feature two queen-sized beds and slightly less floor space. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and a lap desk along with a regular desk.
While there’s no restaurant or bar onsite, free hot breakfasts are included in the price of the room. Freshly made waffles, eggs served a variety of ways, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, juice and coffee are served in the hotel’s breakfast room. The room itself is cheery and bright, with a glassed-in atrium. Along with tables and chairs, there’s a large bar with data ports for guests who’d prefer to surf the web outside of their room.
