About Hampton Inn Manhattan-Seaport-Financial District
Tucked away near the South Street Seaport, the Hampton Inn Manhattan–Seaport–Financial District boasts all the simple comforts (including complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi) expected of the Hampton Inn chain as well as the perfect location to access three of New York City’s most prominent tourist destinations – the South Street Seaport, the Financial District and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Located on Pearl Street, between Peck Slip and Frankfurt Streets, the Hampton Inn Manhattan–Seaport–Financial District is two blocks from the South Street Seaport, an old-timey neighborhood on the waterfront with cobblestone streets, shops, a maritime museum, several piers and restaurants. (It’s also a popular spot for festivals, including a food truck fest in August and Children’s Day in September.) Then there’s the Financial District, the seat of international finance and the oldest part of New York. This area is best explored on foot; you’ll find landmark skyscrapers, the iconic Wall Street Bull sculpture, the New York Stock Exchange, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Trinity Church and the Fraunces Tavern Museum. Travelers can enjoy an afternoon bopping between the various neighborhood watering holes, from charming dives like the White Horse Tavern (where a 16-oz Pabst Blue Ribbon and a shot of house liquor run you a paltry $5) to the banker-friendly spots on Stone Street. Also, there’s the World Trade Center site and 9/11 Memorial, still known locally as Ground Zero, which hosts visitors from all over the world who come to connect with the events that unfolded here.
Finally, the iconic Brooklyn Bridge is practically right outside the hotel’s front door as is its traffic-free pedestrian promenade offering some of the city’s most spectacular views. From the top, you can see all the way to the Statue of Liberty looking south, and enjoy a panoramic cityscape with the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings looking north.
If you’re not tuckered out from walking the bridge, there’s a fitness room downstairs with a bike and a treadmill. And when it’s time to retire for the night, you should know that all rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee-makers and flat-screen TVs. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and available with king-sized beds or your choice of one or two queens. Business travelers can avail of the desk with ergonomic chair, or a lap desk – a kind of breakfast-in-bed tray for your laptop/book.
Complimentary breakfast is served daily and includes a variety of hot options like eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon and oatmeal, along with fresh fruit, cold cereal and breakfast pastries.
The hotel seems designed to attract thrifty business travelers and families planning to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and tour Lower Manhattan. The location is also just steps away from the newly opened $2.1 million Pearl Street Playground, a modest but cheerful little spot offering slides, swings, a spray shower and a sandbox (and benches for Mom and Dad). The hotel is also pet friendly for animals 25 pounds or less.
