About Roosevelt Hotel New York
Within walking distance of many of New York's must-see attractions and only steps away from Grand Central Station, the Roosevelt Hotel New York is a grand, lavish flashback to Old New York. The Roosevelt is located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, the business and tourist center of New York, and home to the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the Museum of Modern Art, Carnegie Hall and St. Patrick's Cathedral – among many other sites. Grand Central, the East Side’s main commuter-train and subway terminal, is a tourist attraction in its own right, a Beaux-Arts masterpiece with many shops and restaurants.
Nearby Fifth Avenue is the world's greatest street for high-end luxury products, from the priceless jewelry at Harry Winston to the fashions at Bergdorf Goodman to the silverware at Tiffany & Co. The heart of Midtown is Bryant Park, on 42nd Street behind the main branch of the New York Public Library. Bryant Park has restaurant concessions, a carousel and free events in the summer, and a skating rink in the winter; many Midtown workers take advantage of the lawn to catch some fresh air during their off-hours.
Taking up an entire city block, the Roosevelt was built in 1924. The Italian Renaissance–style building features sumptuous décor from the original Tiffany chandeliers in its ballrooms to the gold leaf on the columns in its lobby. With 1,015 rooms and suites, the Roosevelt is almost a city unto itself.
