About Sheraton Brooklyn New York
About Sheraton Brooklyn New York
No longer is the borough of Brooklyn in Manhattan's shadow. These days, with its expansive green spaces, booming business, four-star restaurants and unique shopping and cultural opportunities, Brooklyn has become a destination unto itself.
The Sheraton Brooklyn New York is located in downtown Brooklyn and is within walking distance of the Brooklyn and the Manhattan bridges – both bridges are pedestrian-friendly and offer unparalleled views of the city skyline. Three great Brooklyn neighborhoods – Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO and Carroll Gardens – abut the Sheraton. The hotel is also located near a major transportation hub, so all other points of interest in the city are easily accessed by public transportation.
Guests at the Sheraton have a choice of a king or two double beds in standard rooms. Suites are also available, as are adjoining rooms. All rooms come with a small work area, an ergonomic chair and an iPod docking station. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby and available for a small surcharge in individual rooms. Many rooms have great views of the city – some even have a view of the Statue of Liberty.
The Sheraton is right next to its sister hotel, the Aloft New York Brooklyn, with which it shares fitness and pool facilities. The pool features a retractable roof and has a small sundeck off to the side. After working out or soaking in the hotel's Jacuzzi, head to the Brooklyn Terrace bar, which offers rooftop cocktails and spectacular skyline views every week from Wednesday through Saturday.
Many hotels don’t allow pets, or charge an extra fee for them, but the Sheraton welcomes pets under 50 pounds with no deposit. They’ll even throw in a doggy bed and bowl. (Owners only have to sign a waiver promising to pay for any pet-related damages that may occur.)
Did you know?
The Brooklyn Historical Society is a short walk from the Sheraton, and is an excellent resource for those curious about the borough’s fascinating history.
Brooklyn has a rich literary history: Norman Mailer, W.H. Auden, Jane and Paul Bowles, Truman Capote, and Carson McCullers all called the borough home.
Don’t miss the Brooklyn Museum – from its Beaux-Arts architecture to its incredible permanent collection, it should be on every visitor's itinerary.
Wedding parties will find reserving blocks of rooms at the Sheraton is an easy way to keep everyone together. And as Brooklyn is quickly becoming a popular tourist destination, leisure travelers will love the Sheraton's central location and easy access to public transportation.
