About the Skyline Hotel
Don’t let the Skyline Hotel's diminutive height fool you. It may only be nine stories high, but the Skyline's two connected buildings offer some of the most unique views in the city. Because of its proximity to the water and the small scale of the surrounding buildings, the hotel boasts unobstructed views of the Hudson River on three sides. And you don’t need a penthouse room to enjoy them – some of the Skyline Hotel’s best views are seen from the indoor heated swimming pool. A tranquil morning swim before starting a jam-packed day is a true luxury in Manhattan.
The Skyline Hotel is located in Clinton, better known to most New Yorkers as Hell’s Kitchen, and it's a short-to-moderate walk to many prime New York destinations, including Times Square, the Theater District, Central Park, the Jacob Javits Center, Lincoln Center and much more. This residential neighborhood also has a wide variety of relatively inexpensive ethnic cuisines.
The décor of the Skyline – a family-owned hotel that was renovated in 2011 – is one of low-key, eclectic comfort. In the lobby are dark-wood columns, a flat-screen television and plenty of comfy upholstered chairs in muted reds and greens. The modern rooms are big by New York standards and come in an array of configurations, and include pullout sofas to accommodate bigger families or groups. All have desks, flat-screen televisions and in-room refrigerators. The hallways are decorated with brightly colored carpeting and framed photos of nature and urban views from around the world.
Bring your dog! The Skyline Hotel is a dog-friendly hotel unique in that it has no weight requirement. Guests are permitted two dogs maximum and canine guests receive a gift basket upon arrival.
The Skyline Hotel is a great choice for tourists interested in getting a feel for New York City neighborhood life while staying near the hub of Times Square. Fans of ethnic fare will appreciate Ninth Avenue’s diverse assortment of small, and often inexpensive, restaurants.
Families interested in being near but not necessarily in the center of Times Square will appreciate the Skyline's location. And those who travel with pets will find them welcome at this hotel.
If you’re in town for a convention or trade show, the Skyline Hotel is close to the Jacob Javits Center. Business travelers interested in hosting their own conference or event might also want to take advantage of the hotel’s penthouse conference room, complete with wraparound views and a built-in projection screen. The hotel’s restaurant, PJ Brick’s, is available for event catering.
