About The New York Palace
A luxury hotel in one of New York’s toniest neighborhoods, The New York Palace is a Madison Avenue retreat perfect for travelers seeking upscale, full-service accommodations along with access to Manhattan’s most sought-after hubs. Originally built in the 1880s by railroad baron Henry Villard, The New York Palace boasts the best of “Old World elegance and New World opulence,” and more than lives up to the “palace” part of its name.
Combining contemporary style with Art Deco influences, guests who pass through the gilded gates (yes, gates) of these connected mansions will enjoy the luxury of the expansive lobby, soft color palettes, amber lighting, brocade drapes, fresh flowers, marble bathrooms and sweeping staircases. The luxe decor extends to the guestrooms, where visitors staying in Premier rooms are privy to the upper floors of the hotel and their wide city views, and Cathedral Room guests are guaranteed unmatched views of the iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Residence-style rooms and suites in the Towers offer breathtaking skyline views, separate check-in and full amenities, including separate work areas, walk-in closets and sitting areas for entertaining. All rooms are sophisticated and modern, with marble bathrooms, elegant neutral decor and luxurious linens.
The New York Palace’s rich amenities and comfort are matched only by its central location on the corner of 50th Street and Madison Avenue. Steps from shopping meccas like Barney’s New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Cartier, American Girl Place, and within blocks of Midtown’s most popular attractions like St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, The Museum of Modern Art and Central Park, The New York Palace is an ideal base for shopping and sightseeing. Also, free shuttle services to Broadway theaters and Wall Street make it easy to catch a show or get some work done while you stay.
Guests of The New York Palace have access to a 7,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, with state-of-the-art training equipment and incredible views of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Daily spa services include hot-stone massages, therapies, facials and body treatments as well as in-room spa services. The New York Palace is also home to several on-site dining establishments, including the Michelin Star fine-dining destination GILT.

As its name suggests, GILT is a decadent Michelin Two-Star fine dining destination located inside the historic Villard Mansion. Vaulted ceilings and 19th-century design set the elegant scene for diners as they indulge in a Modern American menu created by Executive Chef Justin Bogle. Even if you’re not hungry, stop for a glass of wine or top-shelf cocktail at the GILT Bar – an ornate bar completely ensconced in 14K gold. The opportunity to tipple in a century-old mansion is a rare one.
Located in the hotel’s lavish grand lobby, this elegant American Brasserie serves bistro-style breakfast, lunch and weekend brunches featuring blueberry buttermilk pancakes with meringue crumble and lemon, hand-tossed salads and fresh steak frites.
Seasonal al fresco dining is available in The Palace Hotel’s courtyard overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Lunch, dinner, cocktails and over 3,200 wine selections are served daily under the branches of flowering trees.
