About The Roger New York
Situated in the southern half of Murray Hill, where the frenzy of Midtown slows to a slightly more residential pace, the Roger New York is an elegant, contemporary boutique hotel just a stone's throw from the Flatiron District, Midtown, and the restaurants of Koreatown and Curry Hill.
South of 40th Street, Madison Avenue becomes quieter, narrower, and a little more residential. The Murray Hill section of Madison (also known as "Rose Hill") is anchored by the grand mansions of the Morgan Library and the Polish Embassy to the north, and by Madison Square Park (not to be confused with Madison Square Garden) to the south. The apartments and office buildings are stone, instead of glass and steel, and rarely higher than twenty stories. Home to both delis and classic buildings like the Ritz-Carlton, it is midway between Midtown, the Flatiron district, the UN/Kips Bay area and Gramercy Park. The Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Macy's, Madison Square Garden, and Chelsea are all within a twenty-minute walk.
Completely redesigned in 2012, the Roger New York (also known as Hotel Roger Williams) is a boutique 194-room hotel in a pre-war building offering a clean and modern aesthetic with old world comfort. Step into the light, open lobby of the Roger and street noise fades away; you’ll find a quiet, contemporary space with couches and a bar with photos of jazz musicians on the walls. The hotel’s front desk is actually to the rear, leaving the front area for conversation and relaxation. Up an open staircase to a mezzanine is the Parlour, which offers American cuisine and artisanal cocktails. The rooms are decorated in a light, modern style; some of the deluxe suites have landscaped terraces overlooking the neighborhood. Other luxurious touches include flat-screen plasma televisions, iPod docking stations, Wi-Fi, gourmet mini bars and more. The hotel also features a spacious fitness center, 24-hour room and concierge service, meeting rooms and event spaces, laundry, shoe shine, and a complimentary breakfast.
Business travelers will appreciate the Roger's proximity to both Midtown and the Flatiron District, its large fitness center and its well-equipped meeting space. Leisure travelers will appreciate its quiet, relaxed atmosphere, its light, open décor, and the "neighborhood feel" of the area.
