An icon in Greenwich Village, this circa-1915 cafe gets a 21st-century update via a predominantly small-plates menu with an Italian bent (think flatbreads and crudo) complemented by European apéritifs such as Campari cocktails. The revamped setting adds contemporary touches including leather banquettes while holding on to its old-world charm with original features like a restored tin ceiling and exposed-brick walls.
