The Gray Line's classic double-decker bus tours allow visitors to experience New York in a way that's both up-close and comfortable. The original All Loops Tour gives ticket holders two days (48 hours) in which to experience all the bus itineraries or "loops" – but you can upgrade that 48-hour pass into a 72-hour pass for only $10 more, giving you three days to savor the experience.
There are four bus trips available in the All Loops package: Downtown, Uptown, Night (a.k.a. the Night Tour) and Brooklyn. Each lasts between two and three hours, and they can be taken in any order. The loops are in open double-decker buses, which provide a stunning view of New York's neighborhoods and attractions: Passengers are high above the crowds, but are still close enough to feel like an integral part of the street life of one of the greatest cities in history.
The Uptown Loop includes the American Museum of Natural History with the Hayden Planetarium, Lincoln Center, Grant's Tomb, Riverside Church, the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, and other Harlem sights like the Apollo Theater and Sylvia's Restaurant. The Downtown Loop goes past Times Square, Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, Wall Street, Chinatown and more. The Uptown and Downtown tours are "hop on, hop off" – passengers can leave and rejoin the tours at specific stopping points, usually in front of major attractions like the Empire State Building. (The Brooklyn and Night tours do not offer hop-on, hop-off service.)
The Night Tour covers many of Downtown New York's most famous attractions, glowing with illumination after dark: the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, Rockefeller Center and more. The Brooklyn Loop crosses the Manhattan Bridge and travels through Downtown Brooklyn, passing Brooklyn's famous brownstones, providing a spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline, and going on to Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. There's even a stop for a slice of Brooklyn pizza.
All of the tours include knowledgeable tour guides who explain the history and significance of the sights.
