About Clipper City Harbor Lights Sail – Manhattan by Sail
The Manhattan by Sail-offered Clipper City Harbor Lights Sail is a cruise around New York Harbor that provides passengers with the opportunity to bask in Manhattan's twinkling nighttime glow from the deck of a 158-foot-long schooner that features a fully stocked bar and plenty of room to lounge. The relaxed pace of this 90-minute sail attracts tourists and locals alike, who may enjoy sipping on a cocktail or two while viewing some of New York City's most iconic landmarks from a unique vantage point.
The Clipper City sails from the colorful South Street Seaport, whose proximity to the glimmering lights of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge add to the festive feel before the cruise even departs. Once aboard, passengers will have a chance to meet the crew and help with the exhilarating task of hoisting the sails, if they wish. The ambiance is made even livelier by piped-in music and friendly bartenders serving nautically-themed cocktails, including rum classic the Dark and Stormy. Beer, wine, soda and juice are also available for purchase at the bar.
Passengers who want a bit of quiet may prefer to settle in on the raised quarter deck at the rear of the Clipper City, where the music is much fainter and the views are equally spectacular.
With freedom to move around the Clipper City throughout the duration of the Harbor Lights Sail, passengers can enjoy views of the sparkling sights around them from various perspectives. As the Clipper City slowly glides around the harbor, numerous photo opportunities will present themselves, including the chance to capture the striking skylines of New York and New Jersey that cast a shimmering glow on the water below. Another picturesque sight is the Statue of Liberty, whose illuminated figure makes for a stunning vision against the night sky.
