Hudson River & Brooklyn Bridge Tour - Bike and Roll NYC Tickets

  • About Hudson River & Brooklyn Bridge Tour – Bike and Roll NYC

While yellow cabs may seem the official transportation of busy Big Apple residents, New Yorkers in the know rely oneco-friendlier transportation—with two wheels, not four. Visitors, too, can skirt the subway and tour the city by bike, with tour operator Bike and Roll. With a fleet of Trek bikes, 11 bike tour and rental locations throughout Manhattan, and knowledgeable, certified guides, there’s no better way to cruise the city.

The Hudson River Park, the longest waterfront park in the country, has re-invigorated five miles of Manhattan's formerly-neglected West side into a veritable urban paradise. Its bike path is one of its most exciting features, running the full length of the park and offering locals and visitors alike an unimpeded trail up and down the full length of the city—on the waterfront, no less. The tour begins at Pier 84 (the most expansive of its kind on the waterfront) and takes riders down the bike path towards the Brooklyn Bridge

The complete tour is about 14 miles, and lasts around three hours. It is suitable for moderate to experienced riders, though children under 12 are discouraged from joining. The Hudson River bike path is an exhilarating experience with local riders cycling at whip-fast speeds, often bypassing slower bikes. Remember, there’s no yellow jersey at the end of this tour so don’t feel any obligation to keep up with locals! Also, the Brooklyn Bridge section of the tour is a bit of a climb over the wooden-planked path, but is so very worth the small exertion to stop at the apex and savor the sweeping views of the cityscape. You can also expect plenty of interesting stops along the way to catch your breath and see iconic sites like Battery Park and Wall Street. And don’t forget your camera—photo ops are aplenty, especially from the top of the historic bridge.
