About the Clipper City Jazz Sail – Manhattan by Sail
Whether the songs are orchestrated ballads or in the upbeat style of swing, jazz can be undeniably romantic. As a wide-ranging and multicultural musical genre, it’s also the perfect soundtrack to New York City itself. So if you’re looking for something a little different with a lot of romance to boot, Manhattan by Sail's Clipper City Jazz Sail might have your number. For a couple of hours, you can leave the bustling pace of the city behind and take a nighttime cruise that pairs sightseeing with a live jazz soundtrack.
Embark on the Clipper City Jazz Sail featuring an acclaimed quartet playing standards, ballads and bebop, with the sparkling Manhattan skyline as the picture-perfect backdrop. Cast off on the largest sailing vessel in New York, and settle in on the expansive upper deck with plenty of comfy seating for cozying up and canoodling. Providing the score are world-class jazz guitarist Joe Cohn and revered saxophonist Ian Hendrickson-Smith joined by accomplished musicians curated by the Jazz Standard entertainment group.
The music is sure to move you while the majestic schooner cruises along the Hudson. You’ll feast your eyes on some of New York’s most stunning landmarks, including the Empire State Building, the World Trade Center, the Brooklyn, Verrazano-Narrows and George Washington bridges, and the Statue of Liberty, where the Clipper City will linger for an extended coda.
