About NY Premium See It All Tour – On Board Sightseeing Tours NY
On Board’s See It All Tour offers one of the most comprehensive itineraries of New York City, visiting such iconic sights as the Statue of Liberty, Times Square and Central Park via a climate-controlled coach, a New York Harbor cruise and guided walking tours. The NY Premium See It All Tour includes all that plus a second cruise and passes to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
The tour buses are more intimate than the usual large buses, generally accommodating between 25 and 35 passengers, with cozy seats and extra-large viewing windows. Free bottled water is offered throughout the journey.
The tour, led by an affable, knowledgeable guide, sets off near Times Square and heads to the Hudson River, where you’ll board a New York Water Taxi. Sit on the windswept top deck and take in views of New Jersey on one side and Manhattan on the other (keep an eye out for the impressive sports complex Chelsea Piers and Trapeze School New York). Next stop is verdant Battery Park and Castle Clinton – this is where you’ll do the bulk of the walking, along lower Broadway and past Bowling Green Park, the famous Wall Street Charging Bull sculpture and the New York Stock Exchange. The tour also meanders through the grounds of the Trinity Churchyard, where numerous notable Revolutionary War and American Independence figures, such as Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and General Horatio Gates, are buried.
Next is the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, which pays homage to those who lost their lives on 9/11 with a leafy plaza planted with more than 400 trees that surround two reflecting pools – in the footprints of the original Twin Towers – containing the largest manmade waterfalls in North America.
Board the spacious New York Water Taxi Statue of Liberty Express, and sit on the top sun deck for the finest views. Highlights include sailing directly under the Brooklyn Bridge – offering the unique chance to snap the underside of the legendary bridge – and the iconic Statue of Liberty. The boat spends ample time around Liberty Island, so you can take photos from a variety of angles.
After the boat ride, its snack time at the South Street Seaport, where you can grab a Nathan’s hot dog and a smoothie and sit on the outdoor wooden decks to gaze out at the East River glinting in the sun.
The shuttle then zips uptown through TriBeCa and SoHo to Madison Square Park, the Flatiron Building, the Empire State Building and on to Central Park, where you can celebrate the legacy of John Lennon at Strawberry Fields and the historic Dakota building, Lennon’s former home and still the residence of his widow, Yoko Ono. From the park, you’ll head to one of New York City’s most popular urban centers, Rockefeller Center, and the grand, neo-Gothic St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The tour wraps up at 30 Rockefeller Center, the headquarters of NBC, as well as Radio City Music Hall and the Top of the Rock Observation Deck.
