About the TMZ Celebrity Tour NYC
TMZ is famous for bringing up-to-the-minute news flashes to the world on the best and worst in big-name behavior—a la Lindsay Lohan, the Kardashians and Charlie Sheen. And now New York gets a front row seat into these celebrity scandals and infamous encounters as TMZ and On Location Tours have paired up for daily New York City bus tours (L.A. already has a tour, natch).
If TMZ's been on a story, this is where to get the scoop: See where Lohan threw a punch at a girl she called a "gypsy," where Sheen trashed a hotel room after a drug-fueled binge with a prostitute and where, more benignly, Jessica Simpson eats Mexican. It's a firsthand look at the exclamation-point fueled dish surrounding the haunts of mischief-making celebs.
But wait, there's more. You'll get a peek at the toy store famous for a celebrity tot meltdown and the dive bar where Lady Gaga started her career. Gaze at spots where Gerard Butler charmed the ladies (pointers not included). You'll also get behind-the-scenes info on hot topics that was never published on the website or broadcast on the TV show. Expect to be whisked across town for points of interest in SoHo, Greenwich Village, the Meatpacking District, Tribeca and beyond.
All of this salaciousness is narrated by sassy TMZ guides in the brand's trademark snarky style. There are even on-board games that offer tour-goers the chance to win prizes.
As for your chariot, you'll roll down the city streets in a red, custom-designed 52-passenger closed coach bus with a high-tech audio-video system and large-screen monitors playing LOL materials created by TMZ producers.
Two and a half hours
Good for kids?
The tour is open to all ages, and children 11 and under qualify for a reduced ticket. The TMZ tour does touch on racy material (there's plenty of drugs, sex, rock and roll), so parents are cautioned that some material may be inappropriate for sensitive ears.
Did You Know
TMZ stands for "thirty mile zone," the area that lies within a 30-mile radius of West Beverly and La Cienga boulevards in Los Angeles. Anything beyond this distance is considered a location shoot.
