About the Bateaux New York Dinner Cruise
One of the best ways to see New York is by water: you get stunning views of the city without the crowds you might find touring it on foot. So if you’re a native in need of a staycation or a tourist looking for a way to relax while seeing the sights, the three-hour luxury Bateaux New York Dinner Cruise is a mini-vacation unto itself.
The Bateaux New York is an all-glass European-style vessel that features exceptional views of the city’s world-renowned skyline and an elegant and sophisticated ambience. At boarding time, as you marvel at the ship's glass walls and ceiling, you’ll be escorted to one of two grand dining rooms furnished with candlelit dinner tables and banquettes. A pianist playing a Baby Grand provides the soothing soundtrack.
When the crew casts off, the ship sails across the Hudson and East rivers illuminated by the harbor lights. The cruise provides unparalleled views of famous landmarks including the Empire State Building, Battery Park, the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges, as well as the neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, and the 203 acres of land that make up Governor’s Island. No tour would be complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty: As the ship lingers at Lady Liberty, revelers can look out in awe from all vantage points of the ship.
Dinner is accompanied by music from a vocalist backed by an acoustic trio. The three-course menu can include a spring salad, blue stone crab cake, wild mushroom strudel, tamarind duck summer roll or merguez tasting for starters. Entrees to choose from could include braised short rib, ginger roasted Chatham cod, roast chicken, roasted pork shoulder, or roasted spring vegetables in puff pastry. (Menu items are subject to change.)
After dessert -- options could include sorbeto, sweet berry gallette, cheesecake, chocolate truffle dream or a cheese plate -- soft jazz and blues will bring you to your feet as you dance surrounded by the panorama of sparkling skyscrapers.
There is a dress code for this cruise. Collared shirts and jackets are requested of men, while women are asked to wear cocktail attire or dressy-casual wear. Although tickets can be purchased in person at the pier up to one hour prior to boarding, reservations by phone are strongly recommended.
The Bateaux New York Dinner Cruise runs three hours.
Whether you live here or are just visiting, and you’re looking for luxury and relaxation while soaking up some of the city’s culture and history, you’ll find the perfect haven on the Bateaux New York Dinner Cruise. It’s great for couples, but friends and family will also find this tour to be a fabulous getaway well worth indulging in.
