Do you have a need for speed? Prepare to tear up the waters of New York Harbor on the Shark, a powerful speedboat that can hit speeds up to 35 mph. Don’t be scared—the menacing white teeth painted across its bow are all part of the family-friendly show from Circle Line Downtown.
This fun and exhilarating 30-minute romp takes up to 135 passengers around the tip of Manhattan and out to the Statue of Liberty at a blistering pace. Ferries, barges, tugboats and many other vessels crisscross the waters, but the Shark is about the fastest around. Dress appropriately, you will get wet if you’re sitting in the splash zone!
Sure, the Shark provides a thrilling ride, but the trip also includes a local guide who narrates the sights, including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Staten Island Ferry and One World Trade Center, the building where 6 World Trade Center once stood. You’ll stop for a photo opportunity near the Statue of Liberty, and staff will be happy to snap pictures of you, your friends and family with Lady Liberty in the background.
This is a ride to remember: Wave your hands in the air as tunes blast and the boat hits top speed and races through the waves. It’s a super-fun, super-fast ride past the skyline of the country’s fastest-paced city.
