About World Yacht Dining Dinner Cruises
World Yacht Dining Dinner Cruises offers an elegant experience on the Hudson River, accompanied by stunning views of New York City and the Statue of Liberty at night. Guests enjoy a leisurely four-course meal that allows time for viewing the city from the rooftop lounge, taking photos, sipping drinks and slow-dancing to tunes from a live jazz band or DJ.
Dinner is a four-course meal that includes an amuse bouche (a bite-sized hors d’oeuvre), appetizer, entrée and dessert with coffee or tea. Menus change regularly, but you can expect dishes like jumbo lump crab cakes and Long Island duck breast served with saffron risotto. Guests can order a variety of wines, cocktails, beer, soda and specialty coffees for a fee that's paid at the table at the end of the cruise. (Passengers are expected to tip based on the dinner cruise ticket prices, plus any extra drinks.)
The Duchess, the main yacht used for dinner cruises, is 160 feet long and seats up to 350 people for dinner. Guests of World Yacht dine at private tables and can request window seats for an extra fee. Dinner is served at a leisurely pace so guests can explore the yacht’s rooftop lounge and take photos of the sites in-between courses. Couples can take a spin on the dance floor the entire evening as a live jazz band or DJ plays romantic classics.
The World Yacht ship sets out from Pier 81 and travels south on the Hudson River, with dazzling views of the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and One World Trade Center. The ship circles the southern tip of Manhattan past the Financial District, up the East River underneath the Brooklyn Bridge and just far enough to see the United Nations. The ship circles back and passes right in front of the Statue of Liberty, backlit in her copper-robe finery – arguably the most magnificent, picture-perfect moment of the cruise.
World Yacht passengers should arrive early, so they can begin ordering their meals and drinks and enjoying the ship's ambiance before the tour gets underway. The dinner dress code is dress shirts for men (jackets optional) and elegant or business attire for women. Jeans, sneakers, shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops and tank tops are not permitted on board at any time. World Yacht ships feature marble bathrooms, on-board photographers, coat check, air-conditioning and heating.
