If you're searching for “Is 1 Hotel Brooklyn worth it?” or wondering whether $565 per night makes sense for a luxury stay in Brooklyn, this review is for you. For this One Day, One Stay challenge, we checked into 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge at a rate of $565 per night — which, according to staff, is actually below its typical seasonal pricing that often approaches $1,000 during peak months. The hotel sits directly beside the Brooklyn Bridge in DUMBO, offering some of the most iconic waterfront views in New York City. From Manhattan, you can literally see this property standing prominently at the edge of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Location alone makes it special. But does the experience justify the price?

Let’s break it down.

Location: Brooklyn’s Most Iconic Waterfront Address

The location is one of the strongest selling points of this hotel. It sits directly along Brooklyn Bridge Park, which means guests have immediate access to walking paths, waterfront lawns, and Pebble Beach — one of the best skyline viewpoints in the city. From the property, you get sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, the East River, and both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. The area feels residential and calm compared to Midtown Manhattan, which changes the entire rhythm of your stay. During the day, families and dog walkers move through the park. At night, it becomes quiet and peaceful in a way that Manhattan rarely allows. If you want skyline views without the chaos, this location delivers.

First Impressions & Lobby Experience

From the moment you walk inside, the vibe is unmistakable. The lobby is filled with greenery, reclaimed wood, and natural textures that immediately create a calming, elevated atmosphere. The hotel’s eco-luxury concept is evident everywhere — from recycled materials to filtered water systems. It even smells fresh and botanical, almost as if you’ve stepped into a greenhouse-meets-luxury-resort hybrid. The staff was exceptionally friendly and conversational, going above and beyond during check-in. We were even told that celebrities such as Ed Sheeran, Drew Ski, and professional sports teams have stayed here recently. Overall, the lobby and check-in experience easily earned a 5 out of 5 rating.

The Room: Natural, Modern, and Thoughtfully Designed

Walking into the room, the first thing you notice is the design language. The space feels green, natural, and intentionally minimal without feeling empty. Materials appear sustainably sourced, and the filtered water system reinforces the brand’s eco-conscious message. The beds were soft, the pillows were comfortable, and the lighting controls were conveniently located beside the bed. There were plenty of outlets near the nightstands, which is a small detail that frequent travelers appreciate. The only downside was the bathroom layout, which separates the sink, toilet, and shower into partially open areas rather than one fully enclosed private space. For some guests, that open layout may reduce privacy, which is why we rated the room 4 out of 5 rather than perfect.

Amenities: Resort-Level in Brooklyn

Image

When it comes to amenities, this hotel competes with top-tier Manhattan luxury properties. It features a rooftop pool (seasonal), fitness center, restaurant, café, bar, convenience market, rooftop spaces, and even parking. Few Brooklyn hotels offer this kind of comprehensive on-site experience. The rooftop pool in particular is known as one of the most sought-after summer hangouts in New York City. Even during our stay outside peak pool season, the property felt lively and complete. If you're the type of traveler who wants options without leaving the hotel, this place delivers. Amenities received a full 5 out of 5.

Food & Drink Options

Food and beverage offerings here are diverse and elevated. The hotel includes a full-service restaurant, café, rooftop bar, and small convenience market. While we personally only sampled the complimentary apples during this stay, staff and other guests spoke highly of the dining experience. The presence of multiple options means you are not forced to leave the property if you prefer to stay in. Compared to boutique hotels that offer no dining at all, this feels closer to a full luxury resort. Based on variety and reputation, we rated food and drink 4 out of 5.

Overnight Experience: Quiet Luxury

The overnight experience was exceptional. Our room faced the park, and while you could hear some activity during the daytime, nighttime was remarkably quiet. Compared to Midtown Manhattan stays filled with sirens and traffic noise, this felt serene. The residential character of DUMBO adds to that peaceful atmosphere. Sleep quality was excellent, and the bedding supported that comfort level. With virtually no noise disturbances, the overnight category earned a 5 out of 5.

Price vs. Value

At $565 per night, this hotel sits in luxury territory, but context matters. Staff indicated that typical seasonal pricing often climbs closer to $1,000 during peak summer months. For the views, location, amenities, and design experience, $565 actually felt competitive compared to similar luxury waterfront properties in Manhattan. You are paying for proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge, skyline views, and an elevated atmosphere. Given the full experience delivered during our stay, we rated price versus value 4 out of 5. If you can secure a rate in this range, it feels like a strong play.

Final Verdict: Is It Worth It?

Yes — especially if you value views, tranquility, and design. This was our first 5 out of 5 stay in the One Day, One Stay series, and it earned that rating through consistency across every pillar. The waterfront location, skyline views, eco-luxury design, and strong amenity package make it stand out in Brooklyn’s hotel market. It offers a quieter, more residential alternative to Manhattan while still delivering luxury-level service. If you’re planning a special occasion, summer rooftop stay, or simply want iconic Brooklyn scenery, this property checks the boxes. Book smart, watch seasonal pricing, and this becomes one of the best stays in New York City.
