It was an exciting time on Broadway last season with a post-pandemic boom of 39 new plays, musicals, revivals, and special events. And although the curtain has officially fallen on the 2023/224 season, it’s about to rise again soon for the 2024/25 season. Expect some transfers from Off-Broadway, highly anticipated musicals that have been long in the works, imports from London, and more surprises.

Todd Haimes Theater
A revival of the 1979 Tony Award®-nominated play, Originally staged by the Negro Ensemble Company, Home is a muscular and melodic coming-of-age story that gives voice to the unbreakable spirit of all Americans who have been searching for a place to belong. Kenny Leon (A Soldier’s Play) directs. Limited engagement through July 21.

Ben Platt: Live at the Palace

Following in the footsteps of Judy Garland, Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, and Harry Belafonte, Tony, GRAMMY, and Emmy Award winner Ben Platt will play an exclusive concert residency at Broadway’s recently refurbished Palace Theatre , in celebration of the release of his upcoming third album Honeymind. The residency, directed by Tony Award winner Michael Arden will play Tuesday, May 28 through Saturday, June 15 for 18 performances only.

Oh, Mary!

The sold-out breakout hit comedy of the 2024 Off-Broadway season is coming to Broadway for a strictly limited engagement. Written by and starring Cole Escola, Oh, Mary! tells the story of First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln in the days leading up to the assassination of the 16th president of the United States - credited in the program as “Mary’s Husband.” Unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires abound in this one act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln through the lens of an idiot

After an absence of 25 years, Thornton Wilder’s classic drama about life in a small New England town returns to Broadway. Director Kenny Leon helms the production that features an all star cast that includes: Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Katie Holmes, Billy Eugene Jones, Ephraim Sykes, Richard Thomas, Michelle Wilson, Julie Halston, Donald Webber Jr.

After winning rave reviews in New Orleans and Chicago, Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart (Disney’s Aladdin, Hamilton) stars in a bio musical about jazz legend and American icon Louis Armstrong. The show which boasts a book by Aurin Squire (“This Is Us,” “The Good Fight”) and features songs made famous by Louis Armstrong is directed by Christopher Renshaw.

EGOT-winner Elton John teams up with Scissor Scissors frontman Jake Shears to present a new musical about the life and times of American icon and televangelism pioneer Tammy Faye Bakker Mesner. A hit in London, the cast features Katie Brayben and Andrew Rannells.
