Hudson Yards is on the edge of the latest and greatest developments in New York City. Major commercial residential and retail projects have taken root in this tiny new neighborhood located on the Westside of Midtown, Manhattan. Although the area is small, there are still quite a few attractions to be found here. Don’t overlook this burgeoning area of NYC in your next outing and stop by to see trendy things to do in Hudson Yards!

The Vessel

A stunning architectural marvel, the Vessel stands tall as an iconic landmark in Hudson Yards. This piece of interactive artwork is comprised of 154 interconnected flights of stairs that create a honeycomb-like appearance. The Vessel is 16 floors high and remains temporarily closed to climb. However, visitors can walk around the ground floor Monday through Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 11am-7pm, with no reservation required.

The Shed

This cultural hub hosts a wide range of events from art shows to concerts, to films, and even poetry and literature-oriented talent. This eight-level base building includes two large galleries, a theater, an artist’s lab, a skylight event space, and a rehearsal space. The Shed prides itself on platforming a diverse range of artists-particularly from marginalized communities.

Edge Observation Deck

Edge is the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. You’ll be taken 65 feet into the air, providing you with a panoramic, bird’s-eye view from the observation deck. Visitors will find themselves standing on a see-through glass floor with passersby's 1100 feat beneath. The 101st floor is decked out with a 10,000-square-foot bar, restaurant, and event space. If you’re feeling adventurous enough, tourists are now allowed to participate in scaling the Edge to the top in an experience called City Climb.

Dining

With over twenty-five restaurants on-site, patrons can be assured that they will have more than enough to peruse. Doesn’t matter if it’s fine dining, sweets, treats, cocktails, and coffee, or something quick and casual, you’ll be able to find it all at the Hudson Yards. Dining here will never leave you disappointed!

The seven-level high super-mall here is stuffed with a hundred shops and counting! It’s the perfect place to get a bunch of shopping done under one roof with popular brands like H&M, Uniqlo, Banana Republic, and Fendi all inside. You’ll want to take your time here and browse carefully to find everything you need.
